Reiki is an ancient tradition that uses universal
life energy to support the body’s natural ability to
heal itself. Reiki traces its roots back to what is
now Tibet, originating around 3,000 B.C. Reiki is a
natural healing method that uses the hands of the
healer to channel energy to another person.
It has been practiced for thousands of years. A Japanese Scholar, Dr. Mikao Usui, rediscovered the lost art in the 19th century. He passed on his knowledge to others, who have since spread Reiki around the world. Reiki is a Japanese word derived from “Rei”, meaning “Universal” and “Ki” meaning “the vital life force”. These Japanese characters, when combined, present the concept of “Universal Life-Force Energy.”
Reiki can be defined as the art of activating, applying and balancing the universal life force energy that dwells within every living being, animal or plant.
Reiki is a hands-on healing technique using Universal Life Energy. It is a holistic form of healing on a mental, physical, spiritual and emotional level. It helps restore balance and harmony to the physical mind, emotional and spiritual bodies. The Energy involved in Reiki healing is the universal energy that surrounds all life.
Reiki is used throughout the world by people of all creeds and belief systems. Reiki can benefit everyone. The two ways to experience Reiki energy are to have a Reiki treatment or to learn how to use it for yourself. Of course it is also possible to have the best of both worlds or a combination of both.
Reiki is now widely used in hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, schools and by many individuals for personal healthcare and well being.

Reiki Treatment
Reiki is non-intrusive. The client always remains fully
clothed during a treatment. A sequence of hand positions are
used over and, if appropriate, on the body.
In many cases just one session helps a person to move forward in their life.
Clients can feel a deep sense of relaxation, heat, tingling, coolness and energy flowing during a Reiki treatment. A treatment lasts one hour. Treatments can be reviewed by the client and practitioner and someone with a chronic condition is usually advised to have a weekly Reiki treatment for four to six weeks for the energy to build up in the system.
People with acute conditions may notice lasting improvements after two treatments. No two treatments are the same, as Reiki works on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.
In many cases just one session helps a person to move forward in their life.
